ABOUT THE BAND

The name of the group MARGO reflects our desire to accentuate the sensibility which is hidden behind our purposefulness. Millions of people are dragged into various business schemes, and it seems that they are interested in nothing but money-making, but this is not really so - everything starts with a desire to be loved, to find love and never to part with it.

Practically everyone in their childhood was charmed by the magic of teddy bears. The loss of a toy by a child is the first step to the realization of how fragile the connection is between a child and the beloved object which in the mind of a kid is animated. Virtually, this is the first time when a child's feeling of affection is put to the test. And if this feeling prooves to be strong, it will take a lot of time for the child's woonded heart to heal, and even parents are at a loss to help their child in this situation! If the memory of the teddy bear left behind on a bench in the park is still as strong as to make you cry even after many years have passed, our music is for you.

People nowadays are shy of their feelings, suppressed by the unrelenting control over the rationality of their behaviour. Modern man is overwhelmed by priorities, dictated by society, and appeals to various actions. What we want is to remind the people of that original world where toys came to life at night and watched us stealthily with the beads of their eyes in the daytime.

We are tired of suppressing our emotions, we want to be free to cry when we are sad and to laugh when we are happy, because humanity is the basic principle of our music. To experience emotions and to remain a human being - this is the foundation of the rock that we play, no matter what you call it : pop-rock, brit-pop, or even metrosexual rock! No cliches - only feelings!

We can't resist the charm of teddy bears and we don't feel shy of it. Teddy bears brought by the people to our concert are placed on the stage next to us and they become members of our group - this is a special feature of all our performances, after which the toys either return to their masters or join the group's concert tour and take part in all the following performances. Thus, having come to any of MARGO's live concerts you get an opportunity to meet your plush friend ( who by that time might have become a rock-star) and wish him and us good luck or take him home.

Sensibility is the reason why we have united into a group. We had been looking for each other for quite a long, through close friends and the Internet forums, at concerts and in the streets of Nizhny Novgorod. But it was the ability not to be shy of how sensitive we are that united us into a group of like-minded musicians who chose British sound as the starting point for their creative work.

And it doesn't matter what we will play tomorrow, the main thing is not to lose the original feelings and impressions (even those of our early childhood), that encouraged us to come together. Each of us has gained a certain experience, having played formerly in this or that group, including such famous ones as ELYSIUM and 40 DEGREES, and less popular groups like THE ELVES and ALCOHOL. Our aim is to embody our experience in a product that will help people like us to survive in this cruel world, and to preserve the principles of humanity which are the essence of our life. We believe that through listening to our music people will be able to change the world for the better.

MARGO breaks the formats, and never conforms with the existing ones.
